A 21-year-old woman has died following a road traffic accident in County Londonderry. A 22-year-old woman from Magherafelt has died after being hit by a van in County Londonderry.
The woman, a pedestrian, was struck by a van at the Castledawson Roundabout shortly after 1730 GMT. She died a short time later. Caoimhe Kerr was struck by a van at the Castledawson Roundabout shortly after 1730 GMT. She died a short time later.
A police spokesman said the road is likely to remain closed for some time. Police said that the incident was not a hit-and-run and appealed for witnesses. The road remains closed.
