The husband of a woman who was reported missing shortly after moving to Spain from Warwickshire has admitted murdering her.

Patricia Heard's body was found by police near Valencia in August, nearly two years after she went missing.

Her husband Allen Heard, 63, of Bedworth, Warwickshire, has admitted killing the 53-year-old in July 2006.

He will be sentenced on 13 January at Birmingham Crown Court. Spanish police allowed British police to prosecute.

Mrs Heard's body was found in the Pego area, which is inland from the Costa Blanca.

Mr Heard was living in Oliva, Valencia, at the time of his arrest, shortly after the body was found.
