During the 75-minute search they found two petrol canisters on the floor and a white van locked inside the building which also contained another petrol canister. | |
The jury also heard from cell site analyst, John Tarpey, who said there were no phone records to show where Mr Mercer was on the night of the murder. | |
This was because he did not make calls from his own mobile after 19 August, so the handset was not registering against masts. | |
Mr Tarpey conducted studies at at least 11 sites involved in the case, he said. | |
Describing phone activity on the night of Rhys's murder he said Gary Kays, 25, of Mallard Close, West Derby, phoned Mr Coy from somewhere near Fazakerley Hospital at 1942 GMT - 14 minutes after Rhys was shot. | |
Mr Kays denies assisting an offender by disposing of the gun and the killer's clothing. | |
