Thug kung-fu kicks cop towards moving bus in London street brawl (VIDEO) Brutal VIDEO shows thug kung-fu kicking cop in path of double-decker bus
(about 1 hour later)
The moment a hooded thug kung-fu kicked a London police officer into the path of a moving bus has been captured on film, sparking outcry and an appeal for information from the police. Chilling footage has emerged of the moment a female police officer narrowly escaped being crushed by a double-decker bus in south London after a thug sent her flying into the middle of the road with a kung-fu-style kick.
Filmed by a passing driver in Merton, South London, the attack on Saturday involved three men who were pulled over by police for a traffic violation. A viral video posted to Twitter on Sunday shows how what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop by two officers escalated into a vicious assault.

A 20-year-old man, identified as Martin Payne, has now been charged over the subsequent violent street assault which broke out as police questioned the occupants of the stopped vehicle. Two other suspects are still being sought by police. The clip begins with a male officer being wrestled to the ground and dragged across the tarmac street by one of the thugs.
Video of the dramatic incident shows a scuffle involving the fleeing suspects and two London police officers amid moving traffic. As the officers attempt to wrestle a man to the floor, a second individual lands a flying kung-fu kick into the chest of one of the unsuspecting cops, who narrowly avoids falling into the way of an oncoming bus. The female cop comes to the rescue, but at that point one of the thug’s associates intervenes and kicks her into the path of a turning bus.

It is only thanks to a moped driver that the male cop manages to free himself, and the thug is finally grounded.
The cops were treated for minor injuries following the melee, but have now both been discharged from hospital. Payne was arrested at the scene. He is expected to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court this week.   The brawl was caught on camera by a witness called Nehemiah Adams, who then shared the video on Twitter with the caption: “South London at night. Lol.” Adams has since set his Twitter account to private.
Images of the brazen night time assault have since gone viral, with many commenters branding the perpetrators “thugs” and the incident “shameful”. The Metropolitan Police have appealed for information regarding the attack. Both officers were hospitalized following the incident, the Metropolitan Police said. The female officer suffered head injuries, while her male colleague was treated for cuts.
A man identified as Martin Payne, 20, of Brighton Road, South Croydon, has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and assault on an emergency services worker. He is also accused of driving without insurance and “other than in accordance with a license.”
