http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/england/west_midlands/7707954.stm Version 0 of 1. A mother accused of starving her seven-year-old daughter to death has had her case delayed while she undergoes psychiatric tests. Khyra Ishaq was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital from her home in Handsworth, Birmingham, in May. Her mother, Angela Gordon, 34, has been charged with her murder and appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via videolink. Ms Gordon's partner Junaid Abuhamza, 30, who is also charged with murder, did not appear. They have also been charged with "causing or allowing" the death of Khyra and also face separate charges of child cruelty. They are both expected to appear again in December, but a date has yet to be fixed. |
