Four of the injured tourists are in a critical condition after being air-lifted to a Cairo hospital, according to Egypt's Mena agency. Officials say the bus went out of control and veered off the road on the way from Aswan to a tourist attraction, the ancient temple in Abu Simbel. Egypt has a history of serious bus and car crashes with poor road conditions. The Belgian Foreign Ministry confirmed that 30 Belgians were involved in the accident. They said they were in constant contact with tour operators and Egyptian authorities to help aid the injured and ensure a quick return home. |
