A search is to resume on Thursday for an 80-year-old Fermanagh man who has been missing for a week.

On Wednesday night, police handed out leaflets about Patrick Timoney.

He left his house in Macken near Florencecourt last Wednesday evening to walk his dog. The alarm was raised when his dog returned home without him.

The police have used a helicopter to try to find Mr Timoney, and friends and neighbours have joined search teams to scour the local area.

His neice, Teresa McHugh, has appealed to people in the area to check their land and buildings.

"I just want him back really," she said.

"I'd like to thank the people from the two communities and all the family and friends who have helped over the past week.

"At this stage we're getting stressed out. We're just wondering is he still out there or where he is."
