A man has been jailed over the death of a father-of-two following an argument at a racecourse hot dog stand.

Simon Wootten, 34, suffered an arterial haemorrhage when he received a blow to the neck at Kempton Park, Sunbury, Surrey, on 22 December last year.

David Nobes, 31, from Feltham, west London, was jailed for three years, but time already served on remand means he is eligible for parole in 18 months.

Nobes had denied manslaughter but was convicted on 26 October.

Mr Wootten, who also lived in Feltham and ran a bouncy castle business, was treated by paramedics at the racecourse but died in hospital.

Det Supt Ray Marley said after the sentencing at Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday: "I hope this will go some way towards bringing justice for the family and friends of Simon Wootten."
