A man has been shot dead by police in Romford, east London. A man seen carrying a gun has been shot dead in the street by police in east London.

Police said: "Armed police attended at the request of borough officers. A man has been shot dead by police. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital." They were responding to an apparent domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
The shooting happened near Honeysuckle Close, a residential estate in the Harold Hill area that backs onto a local park. Police requested support from armed officers after neighbours said the man was spotted with a gun.
Helicopter It is not yet known exactly where he was standing when he was shot.
Both the Directorate of Public Standards and the Independent Police Complaints Commission were informed of the shooting. Domestic violence
One resident, who declined to be named, said she was told a second person was also taken to hospital as a result of the shooting.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 1340 to an address in Romford to reports of a domestic violence incident.
"Police received reports from the public of a man seen in possession of a firearm. Armed officers attended at the request of borough officers.
"A man has been shot in the street by police. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital."
