Army deals with suspect devices Alert at building in city centre

A number of controlled explosions have been carried out on devices during a security alert in Twinbrook on the outskirts of west Belfast. Bedford Street in Belfast has been closed after police received reports of a suspicious object around Windsor House.
Homes in Summerhill Drive and nearby streets were evacuated on Wednesday morning. The police said most of the residents had returned home. The Parades Commission, the British-Irish Joint Secretariat, the European Commission and the Courts Service are all based in the building.
The Army is still examining a suspicious object in the grounds of St Colm's High School. Meanwhile, an alert in west Belfast's Twinbrook estate is over after several suspect objects were declared hoaxes.
There have been several security alerts at the school during October. A number of controlled explosions were carried out during the alert.
Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann said residents were upset at the disruption caused by the alert. Homes in Summerhill Drive and nearby streets were evacuated on Wednesday morning.
One of the suspicious objects was in the grounds of St Colm's High School, the scene of several alerts this month.
