A man has been awarded £79,000 after his home, which he rented out for a film starring Bond actor Daniel Craig, was damaged by a production company.

Scenes from Flashbacks Of A Fool were shot at the Hertfordshire home of businessman Glen Haysman.

He told London's High Court that in July 2007 extensive damage was caused to the driveway and inside the house.

Mrs Rogers Films Ltd admitted it had breached the agreement by causing some damage, but disputed the loss amount.

Mr Haysman claimed extensive damage was caused to the driveway and interior of the detached "retro" style four-bedroomed property in Batchworth Hill, London Road, Rickmansworth, which he has owned since 1998.

Dented pride

He complained of holes sunk into the tarmac drive by heavy lorries, damaged wallpaper and paintwork, and the loss of a wine decanter stopper.

Mr Haysman, managing director of Glen Windows and Doors, said this had affected his peace of mind and dented his pride in the appearance of his home, so that he had not felt able to host annual charity events.

Mrs Rogers Films Ltd agreed to pay for the bulk of the driveway repairs, all the interior repairs and the £100 cost of the stopper, but said Mr Haysman was due £69,592 rather than the £99,857 claimed.

Deputy Judge Derek Sweeting QC said that Mr Haysman was entitled to £78,941 plus interest, including £1,000 for the effect on his enjoyment of the property and £3,229 for six days earnings lost because of dealing with surveyors and loss adjusters.
