The Roads Service has defended its response to the heavy snow which caused treacherous conditions on the Glenshane Pass on Tuesday morning. | |
The road was blocked for a time, and there was an accident in nearby Feeny. | |
Section engineer with the Roads Service, Austin Montgomery, said they "were fully prepared for bad weather". | |
"The weather changed rapidly from rain to sleet to snow then back to rain, and under those circumstances any salting can be diluted by rainfall." | |
