Driver dies as car hits bungalow

A 32-year-old driver died when his car crashed into the bedroom wall of an elderly couple's bungalow in Dorset.

The man was driving on Lymington Road, Christchurch, when his vehicle left the road, striking the couple's home at about 0540 GMT.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene on the A337 at its junction with Curzon Way. His next-of-kin have been informed.

The couple were left shocked but otherwise unhurt in the crash.

The road was reopened shortly before 1300 GMT.
