Woman arrested on terror charges

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested in Manchester on suspicion of terror offences, police have said.

Greater Manchester Police said the woman was arrested in Longsight last Friday after officers searched addresses in Manchester and Holland.

Police said she possessed documents which prompted an investigation by British and Dutch authorities.

Officers have been granted a warrant for further detention to continue questioning her.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 40-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism.

"She remains in custody. Inquiries are continuing."
