Two men and two women have been arrested after police seized £130,000 of heroin during raids on two properties in Perth. Officers said the operation by Tayside police's drugs branch has disrupted the activity of a major crime group operating in the area. The four arrested were due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday. The recovery comes days after the force seized a further quantity of heroin and cannabis in Dundee worth £275,000. Det Insp Adrian Robertson said: "This operation has removed a significant amount of potentially lethal heroin from the streets of Tayside, and has also disrupted the activity of a major crime group operating in the Perth area. "Targeting those involved in trafficking heroin remains a priority for Tayside Police, and this operation confirms our commitment to reducing the harm caused to our communities by heroin misuse. We are also intent on bringing to justice those people intent on making profit from the misery of others". |
