A man has died after being shot in the street in Lambeth, south London, the police have said. A man has died after being shot in the street in Lambeth, south London.

Police said they were responding to reports of shots fired. Paramedics and an air ambulance were called but the man died at the scene, despite ambulance crews spending more than 40 minutes trying to save him.
Crews from London Ambulance Service worked on the victim at the scene for at least 40 minutes before the unidentified man was pronounced dead. The area around the scene of the shooting has been cordoned off while police investigate.
A member of staff at the nearby White Hart pub in Kennington Lane said customers at the front of the building had heard gunfire.
He said: "We saw loads of police cars around and we heard that someone had been shot or was firing a gun.
"A couple of the guys at the front said they had heard gun shots."
