She said she had been in a beer tent at Hickstead and heard either Miss Pugh or one of her friends make a snide remark.
Later in The Castle pub she said she decided to attempt to make peace with Miss Pugh.
"I wouldn't say I was necessarily the most polite. I would say I was pretty direct.

But she said then Miss Pugh struck her.

Miss Baker said Mr Maher rushed over and helped her away from Miss Pugh and her friends.
She told the court she had not seen any blood on Miss Pugh and any injuries she sustained would have only been from when she was pulled away by her friends.
An hour later, Mr Maher received a threatening call on his mobile phone from a man who said he was Miss Pugh's father, she said.
"He said he was going to burn down Ben's farm and was going to carve my face up so that I never work again."
The trial continues.
