A 15-year-old boy stabbed his older brother to death after suffering taunts and name-calling at the hands of the older sibling, a court heard. The teenager stabbed his 20-year-old brother through the heart in the street, then hid the body in a bush, the Old Bailey heard. The boy from east London, who is now 16, denies murdering his brother in July of last year. The boy and his brother cannot be identified for legal reasons. Max Hill, prosecuting, said after the boy was arrested he prepared a statement saying he had had an argument with his brother who was calling him names and taunting him by playing music. Lost control The statement said the brother punched the boy in the mouth and pinned him up against cabinets in the kitchen. Mr Hill said the boy claimed: "He was angry and shouting at me, saying I could not do anything because I was a pussy." "I was defending myself. When I realised what I had done, I was scared, I panicked. He was provoking me and I temporarily lost control." Mr Hill said a child living nearby had seen the defendant going after his brother in an adjoining street and making a stabbing motion towards him. He said he saw him put the body, dressed only in boxer shorts, in the bush and later pull it out. The trial was adjourned to Tuesday. |
