Woman rescued from car in river

A woman has been rescued from the River Dee in Banchory after driving her car into the water.

The vehicle went into the river from the car park of the Banchory Lodge Hotel at about 0930 BST on Sunday.

A hotel receptionist raised the alarm and the woman is thought to have been rescued by ambulance staff. The river level was low at the time.

The woman is not believed to have been injured but was taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
