A spokeswoman from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said the pigs were unharmed. Fran Whitten from the RSPCA said the pig had been in the water for about an hour before she arrived at the scene.
"The pig's head was underwater when I arrived. I laid on the jetty and held the pig by her ear while they (fire officers) managed to put straps under her.
"I'm really grateful to the fire and rescue officers because without their help I couldn't have saved her... I'm so pleased we managed to save her.
"She was blue with cold and very stiff but I'm just so pleased she was still alive."
