The parents of Rhys Jones have arrived in court for the start of the trial of the teenager accused of his murder. Prosecutors have started outlining their case against the teenager accused of murdering Rhys Jones.
Stephen and Melanie Jones, who have attended all the preliminary hearings, were accompanied at Liverpool Crown Court by family liaison officers. Sean Mercer, 18, is accused of shooting Rhys, 11, in a pub car park in Croxteth Park, Liverpool, on 22 August 2007.
