Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have had a phone conversation, in which they discussed the resolution of the Syrian crisis, as well as the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The two diplomats also discussed the bilateral contacts between Moscow and Washington for the near future, among other issues, the statement adds. The two diplomats also discussed the bilateral contacts between Moscow and Washington for the near future, among other issues, the statement adds. According to the US state department, Pompeo expressed commitment to the ceasefire in the southwest of Syria, and called on Russia and Syria to “ensure no unilateral activity in this area”.
