Version 0 of 1.

Nat Fraser is to make another appeal against his conviction for murdering his wife Arlene, BBC Scotland can reveal.

Fraser was jailed for a minimum of 25 years in 2003 after being found guilty of murdering 33-year-old Arlene.

Earlier this year, three judges threw out his appeal against his conviction.

Arlene went missing in Elgin, Moray, in 1998. Her body has never been found. Fraser will apply for leave to appeal to the Privy Council in London.

It is a new legal move, and could be his final bid in the UK before trying the European courts.

The hearing will take place at the High Court in Edinburgh later this month.

Continue fight

Fraser had said when he lost his conviction appeal: "The fight will go on, as will the fight to get to the truth."

Fraser's defence team had claimed that he had been the victim of a miscarriage of justice.

Arlene's family said they still hoped to find out what happened to her.

The wife and mother disappeared after waving her two young children, Jamie and Natalie, off to primary school on 28 April, 1998.

Her husband appealed for her to get in touch, but was later charged.

He denied any involvement, but the jury found Fraser guilty of murder.
