Staff threatened in armed robbery

A shop in Lurgan has been robbed by thieves armed with knives.

At about 2000 BST on Wednesday two men entered the premises in the Sloan Street area and demanded money from staff.

A member of staff refused and was grabbed by one of the robbers. He threatened her, while his accomplice stole a sum of cash from the till.

The two then fled on foot in the direction of the Old Portadown Road. No one was injured during the incident

The robbers had orange-coloured fabric covering their faces, with eye-holes cut out. They wore hooded tops with the hoods pulled up.

They are believed to be around 20-years-old.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, particularly a male customer who was in the shop at the time.
