Police probe house party murder

The death of a 23-year-old man at a house party is being treated as murder, police have said.

The man, whose name has not been revealed, was pronounced dead by paramedics who were called to the party in the area of Chopwell near Gateshead.

The cause of the man's death has not been revealed.

Northumbria Police said officers had interviewed some guests who attended the party and detectives were trying to trace other people who were there.
