There will be no World Cup Alpine skiing at the French resort of Val d'Isere this season because of unseasonably warm weather.

The men's races scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled and the International Ski Federation has now called off next week's women's races.

Skiing chiefs are expected to announce a replacement venue and date for the women's races on Monday.

Sunday's men's super-combined has been switched to Reiteralm in Austria.

The men's programme due to take place in the Italian resort of Val Gardena on 15 and 16 December will go ahead as planned.

Mild weather has disrupted the early part of the Alpine ski season in Europe but heavier snowfall is expected.
