Spanish police say they have arrested 121 people in a series of nationwide raids as part of an operation against internet child pornography. Spanish police have arrested 121 people in what they described as the country's largest ever operation against internet child pornography.
A further 96 people have been accused of possessing and distributing internet child pornography, they said. Millions of photographs and video files were seized in a series of nationwide raids beginning in July, uncovering a network spanning 75 countries.
The operation, the biggest of its kind ever carried out in Spain, began last July, local media reported. Police said at least two of those held had produced their own pornography.
More than 800 officers took part, seizing a total of 347 hard drives, 1,186 CDs and DVDs and 36 laptops. A further 96 people have been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
Spanish police said they had been able to identify a number of victims.
