Post-mortem test on second body Police linking prostitute murders
(about 5 hours later)
Police investigating the murder of a prostitute found dead in a brook in Suffolk are expected to name a second woman found dead in the same area. The body of a woman found in a pond in Suffolk is that of missing prostitute Tania Nicol, police have said.
Gemma Adams, 25, who disappeared after leaving home to work in Ipswich, was found dead at Thorpe's Hill near Hintlesham, Suffolk, on 2 December. Det Supt Andy Henwood said there were "obvious similarities" between the death of the 19-year-old and that of another prostitute Gemma Adams, 25.
Police divers on Friday found the body of a second woman near Copdock Mill. The body of Ms Adams was found near Hintlesham, on 2 December, while Miss Nicol was found naked in a pond a mile away near Copdock Mill, on Friday
The find came as officers continued a search for prostitute Tania Nicol, 19, who went missing on 30 October. Police said further tests were needed before causes of death were known.
Both women had been working as prostitutes in Ipswich.

Ms Adams was found naked in a brook at Hintlesham. The second woman was found naked in a pond a mile away at Copdock. Det Supt Henwood said they were be treating the deaths as "linked investigations".
A post-mortem examination was being carried out on Saturday on the second body. "There are obvious similarities between Tania's and Gemma Adam's disappearances and subsequent deaths," he said.
Det Ch Insp John Quentin said: "We are looking at three distinct issues here. We have got an officer leading the inquiry into the death of Gemma Adams. "However we will be seeking further information from specialist advisers to confirm this view."
"I'm leading the inquiry into the missing person, Tania Nicol. The fact that we've got a body here at Copdock means that we will oversee and look at the identification and the cause of death. Ms Adams disappeared after leaving home to work in the city.
"It's much too early to make any conjecture in relation to whether this - the body we found - and that of Gemma are linked in any way." Ms Nicol went missing on 30 October.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on Saturday on her body.
