Tribute after death of ' tomboy' | |

The parents of a 14-year-old girl who died after a collision with a van have paid tribute to their "much loved daughter" who was a "tomboy at heart". | |
Hannah Davies died following the collision in Perthygleision, Aberfan, Merthyr Vale, on Saturday evening. | |
A 33-year-old woman driving a Vauxhall Movano box van was arrested and later released on South Wales Police bail. | |
Hannah had just begun her GCSEs at Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun, Hirwaun, and was also taking a college plumbing course. | |
In a statement her mother and father, Claire Davies and Mark Emery, said: "Hannah was much loved by her family including her brothers Morgan, Dylan and Christopher and sisters Natasha, Leah, Kirsty, Rebecca and Caitlin. | |
"She had just started Year 10 in school and had just started her GCSEs. | |
"She was a tomboy at heart and was hoping to become a plumber. One day a week she was attending a plumbing course at Merthyr College and was very much regarded as one of the boys. | |
"She was a big Liverpool Football Club fan and shared her love of Liverpool with her father from a very young age. | |
"Hannah was a very popular girl with a very large circle of friends." | |
Police have asked any witnesses to the incident at about 1725 BST on Saturday to contact them on 029 2022 2111. |
