A third arrest has been made in connection with the murder of special constable Nisha Patel-Nasri.

A 35-year-old man from east London was detained on Friday morning and is custody at a London police station.

A 37-year-old man from north London and a 41-year-old man from east London were arrested early on Wednesday.

Magistrates have granted detectives a further 32 hours to quiz the pair about Mrs Patel-Nasri's death outside her home in Wembley, north-west London.

Mrs Patel-Nasri, who also worked as a hairdresser, and husband Fadi had been out celebrating their wedding anniversary in the hours prior to the attack.

She was thought to be investigating noises outside her home, dressed in her nightclothes, when she was stabbed in the leg.

DNA was found on the murder weapon, which was recovered by police shortly after the attack.

Mrs Patel-Nasri was a hairdresser by profession, but had been a special constable - a part-time volunteer police officer - for three years.
