Charles toured shops and spent time at a pub talking to locals before visiting Ashover, recently named Calor Village of the Year. | |
He spoke to members of the War Widows' Association, of which he is patron, and met a man responsible for training owls for Harry Potter films. | |
Charles also unveiled a plaque to commemorate both his visit and the village's award and said: "Can I just say what a real pleasure it is to be with you in Ashover today. | |
"You are such a wonderful example of what a community should be. | |
"I would like to apologise on behalf of my darling wife for the fact that she was not able to be here today. I am afraid she was not feeling quite right." |
