Police in Yerevan, Armenia arrested 62 people Saturday as protesters moved their demonstration to residential districts, blocking the streets, Interfax cited national police spokesman Ashot Agaronyan as saying. The mass protests swept the country after former President Serzh Sargsyan was appointed as the new prime minister. As demonstrations continue for the 9th day, Sargsyan called on opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan to start a dialogue to avoid “irreversible losses.” |
