A 35-year-old prison inmate has died after being attacked in a jail in Greater Manchester. A murder investigation has been opened after the death of a prison inmate at a jail in Greater Manchester.
Police were called to Forest Bank Prison in Salford on Friday morning after reports that a man had been assaulted and was unconscious. Ryan Beaver, from Stockport, suffered serious injuries in the assault at Forest Bank Prison in Salford on Friday morning and died in hospital.
The man, who has not been named, was taken to hospital, but later died. Prison guards at the privately-run jail discovered the 35-year-old unconscious just after 0900 BST and called police.
