It has emerged that a cash machine which police thought had been stolen in County Tyrone was actually buried under the rubble left by the ram-raiders.

Police made the discovery on Tuesday, hours after the attempted robbery, but only released the details on Friday.

Four men with a quarry digger and a trailer tried to steal the ATM in Carrickmore.

Police said they would still like to hear from anyone with information about the would-be robbers.
