A rail tanker has come off the tracks close to a hotel in Gloucestershire and is leaking fuel. | |
The wagon overturned near the Beacon Hotel in Haresfield just before midday. Transport Police said despite the leak it was not believed there was a threat to safety. Three nearby roads have been closed as a precaution. | |
Police said: "The tanker, which was carrying liquid fuel and which was the last of 28 tankers, derailed and overturned on tracks." | |
The Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water have been informed and firefighters are also at the scene. | |
First Great Western (FGW) said services between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads had been disrupted. | |
A spokesman for FGW said short-notice alterations, cancellations and delays could be expected. | |
"The train involved is a non-passenger train and there are no customers involved," he said. |
