Version 0 of 1.

What questions would you like to ask about the Millennium Development Goals?

One of the Goals was to halve extreme poverty by 2015

The United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set out a vision for a more just world. The eight MDGs range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education - all by the target date of 2015.

Based on current trends, many of the goals will not be reached on time.

Halfway to the deadline a special BBC World Debate asks whether these goals can be achieved by the 2015 deadline. The debate will feature heads of state, UN officials, leaders from the private sector and non-governmental organisations.

Would you like to ask the BBC World Panel a question? Can the 2015 MDGs still be reached? How can the goals be achieved? Are the targets realistic?
