Gang's cash raid on security van

A large amount of cash has been stolen after thieves threatened a security van crew in an early morning robbery outside a building society.

Gwent Police say "a number of men" were involved in the robbery outside the Nationwide in Caerphilly.

They stole the cash stacked in grey plastic containers and made off in a small red car along St Fagans Street.

Police were alerted at 0520 BST and are appealing for information. The road in the area has been sealed off.

Officers are appealing for information. No-one was injured.
