A 20-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after she was stabbed while shopping in a supermarket in West Sussex.
A 21-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman following a knife attack in a West Sussex supermarket.
The victim, who is in hospital in Southampton, was seriously injured on Tuesday in the Somerfield store in Anchor Springs, Littlehampton.
Samuel Reid-Wentworth, of Longford Road, Bognor, will appear before magistrates at Worthing on Thursday.
Det Ch Insp Jeff Riley said it appeared to be "a random and motiveless attack on an innocent young woman".

A 21-year-old man, from Bognor, is being questioned by Sussex Police.
She suffered multiple wounds and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The woman was transferred to Southampton for specialist treatment after initially receiving emergency surgery at Worthing Hospital.
"As far as we are aware, she was not known to her attacker," Mr Riley said.
He said police had already spoken to a number of witnesses who were "in or around the store".
"We will be maintaining a high visibility presence at the store in case there are others who have not yet spoken to us," he added.
The store's security guard restrained the attacker until police arrived.
A police spokesman said the victim's condition was critical but stable and the supermarket remained closed.
The victim, who had multiple wounds, was transferred to Southampton for specialist treatment overnight after receiving emergency surgery at Worthing Hospital.
A Somerfield spokeswoman said staff and customers were extremely shocked.
"Our store colleagues attended to the injuries until the ambulance arrived whilst the security guard restrained the assailant until the police were able to take over," she said.
"Our thoughts are with the family of the individual who has been attacked."
