Three remanded on killing charges Four charged over father's murder

Three men have been remanded in custody charged with murdering a father-of-three walking home from his daughter's 18th birthday party at the weekend. Four Dungannon men have been charged over the murder of a father-of-three in the County Tyrone town at the weekend.

Mr Toye was also charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm at the hearing at Omagh Magistrates Court. Kevin Murray, 39, from the Lisnahull area was charged with attempted murder.

Vigil A detective inspector said the police case was that the murder was a joint enterprise between all of the accused, who were all remanded in custody.
Hundreds of people attended a vigil in memory of Mr Hughes on Monday night. He said he believed they were travelling to the Hughes' family home together in a taxi -to seek revenge fro the beating of another man.
Two women - friends of Mr Hughes - were struck by a stolen car after the killing and Mr Hughes' son was shot in the arm with a crossbow. One of those accused of murder, Mr Kinnear, applied for bail. His solicitor said he had been in the taxi - but ran away from the scene.
The two women are being treated in hospital for multiple injuries to their legs. He said his client was horrified by the murder and wanted to distance himself from it. He claimed his account could be verified by CCTV pictures.
Flowers were laid at the scene of the stabbing on Monday. The police said the CCTV footage had not been examined yet and 25 witnesses had still to be interviewed.
A rose from Mr Hughes' youngest daughter, Siobhan, had a note attached, saying: "Daddy, I want you back." Bail was refused and all four men were remanded in custody for three weeks.
It was not the first time tragedy has struck the family.
Mr Hughes' father, Francis, was killed by loyalist paramilitaries 18 years ago.
