Vigil held for town murder victim Three charged with stab killing

A vigil has taken place in Dungannon, in memory of Eamon Hughes who was murdered at the weekend. Three men have been charged with the murder of Dungannon man Eamon Hughes.

The three men, two of whom are aged 22 and the other 24, will appear at Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
One of the men has also been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. A fourth man, aged 40, has been charged with attempted murder.
He will appear at the same court.
Vigil
A vigil was held in memory of Mr Hughes on Monday night.

Friends gathered in the Lisnahull area of the town throughout the day to support the family.
Paddy Vincent, the father of a woman who was attacked along with her daughter when they tried to help Mr Hughes, said the commmunity was under threat from "thugs".
"Our community has been taken from us by thugs, dope pushers, joyriders, thieves," he said.
"This town does not belong to them, this town belongs to us the people of Dungannon, the Eamon Hughes - the innocent people of this town."
The stolen car that struck the two women following the murder, first ran them over, then reversed over them again, breaking their legs.
Mr Hughes' son, Kevin, was hit with a crossbow bolt when he tried to intervene and save his father.
Six people are being questioned about the murder in the Lisnahull estate.
Police have released three people on bail, pending further reports.

Earlier, residents told the BBC that the people whom they believe murdered the father-of-three have been holding the estate to ransom for years.
They said tensions were running high in the area.
The police said they want to hear from witnesses to the attack, including anyone who saw a beige taxi on Lisnahull Road which was later found burnt out.
