A 24-year-old man has been shot dead in a betting shop in north Dublin.

A gunman walked into the premises on Killester Avenue in Donneycarney and shot the victim in the head shortly before 1500 BST on Saturday.

The attacker made off on a motorbike, thought to have been abandoned and burned-out a short distance away.

The murder is believed to be the 13th so-called gangland killing this year, one more than the total for the whole of last year.
