Kidnapping trio 'robbed £200,000'
(about 2 hours later) | |
Three Belfast men accused of kidnapping and robbing more than £200,000 have been remanded in custody.
They are Matthew Charles Johnston, 27, of Stratheden Drive, Brendan Conway, 34, of Knutsford Drive and Eamonn Hutchinson, 27, of no fixed address.
The charges relate to the holding hostage of a man while his bank worker sister was ordered to get money.
The three men were removed from the dock at Belfast Magistrates Court after refusing to stand to hear the charges.
The bank employee was robbed of £173,688, US$36,000 and 26,000 euro on Thursday, the court heard.
A detective sergeant told the court he believed he could connect each of the men to the charges.
No bail application was made on the men's behalf, and they were remanded into custody until 10 October to appear again via videolink. |
