Teenager subjected to sex assault

An 18-year-old girl has been subjected to a serious sexual assault in Belfast.

It happened in Apsley Street in the south of the city sometime between 0100 and 0200 BST on Wednesday, a PSNI spokeswoman said.

Officers investigating the incident have appealed for witnesses or anyone else with information to contact their nearest police station.

There are no further details at present.
