Man remanded over deaths on boat

A man has appeared in court charged with the murders of his partner and a friend on the Grand Union Canal in Buckinghamshire.

The bodies of Kay Morton, 39, and Paul Wilkins, 53, were found by police on a narrow boat in Stoke Hammond, near Milton Keynes, on Sunday.

William Cranston, 43, who had been living on the boat, was remanded in custody by magistrates in Aylesbury.

He will appear at Reading Crown Court on 22 September.
