The opening of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi has been delayed as organizers await a number of participants and observers, Russian officials said on Tuesday. According to earlier reports, some delegates opposed to Syrian President Bashar Assad refused to leave the airport upon arrival, saying they were offended by the presence of the Syrian state flag and emblem, Reuters said. A group from the Syrian armed opposition, which arrived from Turkey, determined its participation by additional requirements, according to Artyom Kozhin, the deputy head of the information and press department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
