One dead as heavy rain batters UK Flash floods cause damage in UK

People in flood-prone areas across northern England and southern Scotland are being warned to prepare for the worst as torrential rain continues. Heavy rain is causing flash floods across the Midlands and northern England.
The Environment Agency says there are concerns of flash flooding, particularly in the north east. West Mercia police have reported flooding in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire.
Flood levels are receding in south west England and Wales where a 17-year-old girl died in a trapped car on Friday. The Environment Agency says Morpeth in Northumberland is under water but flood waters are receding in Wales where one person was killed on Friday.
There are a total of 97 flood warnings in place in England and Wales, seven of them severe. The Agency has issued more than eighty flood warnings in England and Wales, five of which are severe.
