Storms which left one person dead in mid-Wales and caused floods across Wales and England are moving north. People in flood-prone areas across a northern England and southern Scotland are being warned to prepare for the worst as torrential rain continues.
Five severe flood warnings and 79 flood warnings remain in place across England and Wales. The Environment Agency says there are concerns of flash flooding, particularly in the north east.
Police in Northumberland and North Yorkshire say several motorists have been rescued from cars on Saturday but there have been no injuries. Flood levels are receding in south west England and Wales where one teenager was killed in a trapped car on Friday.
On Friday, a 17-year-old girl died when a vehicle overturned trying to cross a swollen river at a ford in Powys. There are a total of 97 flood warnings in place in England and Wales, seven of them severe.
