Version 0 of 1.

Police investigating the kidnapping of a woman and her four-year-old son in County Down earlier this year have arrested a 31-year-old man.

A substantial amount of cash was also seized by detectives during a search operation in north Belfast.

In May, Emma Crane and her son were taken from their home in Killough and brought to a house in south Belfast where they were held hostage.

In a separate search in Carryduff, cash and other items were seized.

Ms Crane and her son were held for 12 hours in a vacant house in the Ravenhill area while her partner, employed by a financial institution, was told to get ransom money.

It is believed a ransom of £200,000 was paid.

They were unhurt, but left shaken by their ordeal.
