A man who admitted having an imitation firearm in the A&E department of Altnagelvin hospital has been given a two-month suspended sentence.

Martin Thomas Boyd, 46, from the Fountain estate, appeared in court in Londonderry on Thursday.

The court heard Boyd had bought the BB gun at the Auld Lammas Fair in Ballycastle and went to hospital to have his broken arm examined.

Thirty people were evacuated from A&E during the incident last month.
