Version 0 of 1.

The three candidates fighting it out to be the next Scottish Labour leader are going head-to-head to explain why they should land the top job.

Former ministers Andy Kerr, Iain Gray and acting leader Cathy Jamieson will be quizzed on their plans for the party in a live BBC Scotland TV debate.

The leadership contest was sparked by the resignation of Wendy Alexander from the job.

She left amid a row over donations to her leadership campaign fund.

As the contest enters the final straight, the contenders to replace Ms Alexander will be quizzed by Newsnight Scotland's Gordon Brewer in a specially extended programme.

The Newsnight Scotland debate will be screened on BBC2 Scotland at 2300 BST on Thursday.
